Are dogs allowed?
Leashed dogs are welcome in any of our outdoor seating areas (just not inside the taproom) Ask for a dog bowl & a treat!
Are kids allowed?
Children are welcome to tag along (for a root beer float or two!) but we ask that they are accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times and must remain seated at your table.
Do you offer a military discount?
We do! Present your military ID in the taproom to receive a 15% discount on draft beer.
Do you serve cider, wine, cocktails, or gluten-free options?
Old Bust Head Brewery proudly serves our hand-crafted Hard Seltzers, Hard Sodas, and (new!) gluten-free Hard Cider. At this time, we do not offer wine or cocktails on our menu.
Do you have non-alcoholic options?
Our offerings extend beyond alcoholic beverages, including house-made root beer, ginger ale, and cold brew coffee sourced from the local socially-sustainable roaster Cafe Kreyole. Additionally, we provide a rotating selection of kombucha brewed by Mad Magic Kombucha nearby.
Do you serve food?
Rotating food trucks visit weekly (check out our food truck lineup on our Events Page!) or visit one of Vint Hill's nearby cafes. We also serve warm pretzel bites & beer cheese, as well as cheese boards, that are perfect for sharing. Outside food is always welcome!
Can I reserve a table in the taproom?
Our taproom seating indoors and outside is available on a first come, first served basis. For larger groups, please consider booking one of our private event spaces.
The Taproom
Our taproom is located on the campus-like setting of the discretely situated Vint Hill army base in Fauquier County, Virginia. We refurbished an abandoned 1950's warehouse on the property for our taproom—polishing the old concrete floors, exposing rough wood posts and beams, and adding industrial style windows, as well as a walnut bar made from trees on the Old Bust Head Road property. The taproom and terraced beer garden overlook beautiful and historic slate-roofed barns that were part of the original farm buildings taken over and used by the military as a top secret listening post. Our forty-eight taps accommodate the diverse and creative selection of craft beers we brew; and our rooftop solar, underground geothermal system, and leading edge C02 recapture system reflect our desire to make life not only rich, but sustainable.
The Brewery
The Old Bust Head production area features a 30-barrel, four-vessel brewhouse and a combination of fermentors—including eight 60, three 90, and two 120-barrel capacities—allowing for an annual beer production of up to 15,000 barrels. For limited releases and hard seltzers, we operate a 7BBL brewhouse and fermentors exclusively for the taproom.

Beer Garden
•Enjoy your beer under the shade of our beer garden pergola with one of the best evening sky views around.
•Purchase your beer inside at the bar and carry it out to your table.
Pedestrian Plaza
The Pedestrian Plaza is a relaxing space in front of Old Bust Head.
•Tables with umbrellas, chairs and built-in bench seating.
Beer to go
Visit the taproom and you will also be able to buy our beer directly from the brewery by the 6-pack, crowler, growler, case or keg.
•Growlers are available for purchase and fills of OBH brews on our counter-pressure growler filler!
•We offer 32oz Crowlers of any of our beers on tap.
•We sell 1/2 and 1/6 BBL kegs of many of our beers. Check out our beers page to see if the beer you like is available in a 1/6 or 1/2 BBL. After 10 keg purchases, your 11th keg is half price!
